Wilson Hall Middle School has been selected to receive an Alabama Arts Education Initiative (AAEI) Grant in the amount of $25,000. The mission of AAEI is to support the initiative to provide high-quality arts education that enlightens, inspires and develops in every Alabama student the creative and innovative thinking necessary to ensure college and career readiness.

Wilson Hall Middle School proposes to implement a mobile arts enrichment program that will begin in August of 2018. “Art in Motion” will feature art instruction in various mediums, including: mixed-media, pottery, open studio, photography and painting. Teachers for these mediums will come from the Black Belt Treasures Teacher Initiative Program, Grove Hill Cultural Arts Center and other local specialists. The end of the school year will culminate with an art exhibition in the spring.
