Thirteen band members ranging in age from 5th - 8th grade participated in the recent James G. Gunn Honor Band.  They did very well with three students scoring into the advanced "Tombigbee" Band and ten winning spots in the "Alabama" Band.  The bands were directed by Kenn Hughes of Mobile and Sandy Brown of Chatom respectively and presented an excellent concert to a full house on Saturday night at the Thomasville Civic Center.  The Tombigbee Band included Katelyn Miller (5th Grade!), Sarah Finney (6th Grade) and Jon Overton (7th Grade).  In the Alabama Band, we were represented by Talia Fail (7th Grade), Alaysia Richardson (7th Grade), Emily Baugh (5th Grade), Laila Waddill (6th Grade), Sequeshia Bass (8th Grade), Molly Pettis (5th Grade), Nykiah Johnson (6th Grade), Caleef Caldwell (7th Grade), Kasen Davis (6th Grade) and Khristain Love (8th Grade).  WHMS students were competing for these positions with students from other middle and high schools in our geographical area and placed very well against much older and more experienced students.  Way to go, Band!
