2017-2018 was Crystal Wilson’s first year to teach at Wilson Hall. She was an award-winning student here from 1991 – 1995. She has certainly made a difference!

Here is a list:
Alabama Arts Education Initiative Grant- $25,000 (Art Program)
Lowe’s Toolbox for Education Grant- $5,000 (Landscaping)
Band of Poach Creek Indians (Wind Creek Casino) Grant- $1000 (General Funds)
Alabama Bicentennial Grant- $2,000 (Outdoor Classroom)
Parks and Recreation Grant- $1,066. 25 (New Scoreboard for Gym)
She has also served as PTO President and spearheaded fundraising through a Fall Festival, Spring Fling, and many other projects. She is the middle school sponsor of the Royalty Step Team. (The high school sponsors are Agatha Grant and Xiomara Toole).

In her own words… It’s been a wonderful first year! It’s been so good to be home!
Serving the students in the same school that I attended is surreal! I haven’t done any more than my colleagues, we all work hard. I just try to work as unto the Lord and pray that He’s pleased with my efforts. I’m thankful to my Principal, Dr. Carolyn Taite, for giving me the opportunity. She allows me to try new things and be myself. I’m so appreciative!!! Also, my co-workers are awesome!!! I could not do what I do without them!!! Next, my family. They are my biggest support system. They constantly push me to higher heights and I’m grateful. Finally, my babies, Kristen and Micah. They are my “why.” Everything I do, I do for them. I’m honored and humbled for the recognition. To God be the Glory!!!
